our members are our heart & soul.

Each applicant for membership in the National Arts Club must have a sponsor/proposer and a seconder who are both members in good standing for at least one year, and the sponsor must have known the applicant for at least one year. Attending lectures and other public events at the National Arts Club are opportunities for those interested in becoming members of the Club to meet members.

Feel free to download the guidelines on the admission procedures to learn more about our admissions requirements and process. The guidelines can be downloaded here.

I'm a Member and would like to propose someone for membership. What do I do?

First, email the Admissions Committee at [email protected], chaired by Anne Lacombe and Mike Schuil, for an application and a rate sheet. The Admissions committee will guide you through the simple procedure. Second, ask another member to second the candidate. If you don’t have an available Seconder, contact the Admissions committee at the email address above.

Please note: Dual Members may act as Proposer and Seconder

If you are a Member who is familiar with the process you can also download the application here.

Membership Rates

The National Arts Club offers multiple levels of membership. An initiation fee applies to all levels of membership. Fees range depending on level of membership but starts at $700. Annual dues also apply and range depending on the level of membership but start at $770. Members qualifying as Resident Members are subject to a $45 minimum charge monthly in the Dining Room from September through June. Resident Dual Memberships will entail a $52 monthly minimum charge.

RESIDENT MEMBERS Includes members who have a full or part-time residence or place of business within a 60 miles radius of New York City. The Admissions Committee uses Hagstrom’s map as a guide.

NON-RESIDENT MEMBERS Includes members who do not have a full or part-time residence or place of business within a 60 miles radius of New York City as determined by the Admissions Committee using Hagstrom’s map as a guide.

JUNIOR MEMBERS Includes members, at the time of admission, under 35 years of age. There are two categories (both require proof of age) for younger membership as outlined above. The initiation fee for junior members may be paid over the one-year period beginning on the date of admission, at the members’ discretion. Once a member ages out of junior membership (upon their 36th birthday), they will be billed at the regular (resident or non-resident) membership rate.

DUAL MEMBERS Includes members who are domestic partners or spouses, residing at the same address. Each applicant for Dual Membership must submit a separate application to the Admissions Committee.
