Deborah Turbeville and the Influence of Female Gaze
To celebrate the release of the new monograph Deborah Turbeville: Photocollage, Richard Grosbard, Director of the Deborah Turbeville Archive at MUUS Collection, and writer Christina Cacouris will delve into the impact of female photographers on the 20th-century visual narrative. Their discussion will encompass the distinctive visions and image-making of artists like Julia Margaret Cameron, Berenice Abbott, Lee Miller, Vivian Maier, and Diane Arbus. The conversation will culminate in a reassessment of Deborah Turbeville’s life and her significant contributions to the field.
