November 16 at 8 p.m.An Evening of Cello and Piano: Celebrating 125 Years — Then and Now In honor of celebrating the 125th anniversary, the National Arts Club presents rising cello sensation Miriam K. Smith in collaboration with pianist Julia Siciliano for a thrilling recital program. The Club’s anniversary themes are “Then and Now” and “American Impressionism.” Miriam’s musical journey will take the audience from “Then” classic Beethoven, through César Franck and Rachmaninoff, to Nadia Boulanger, the famed pedagogue of 20th century composers, and “Now” current composer Edmund Finnis. Young American cellist Miriam K. Smith (b. 2006) is rapidly gaining recognition as an immensely talented and charismatic soloist with orchestras across the United States. Since making her concerto debut at age 8, she has performed as a soloist with the orchestras in Cincinnati, Louisville, Wisconsin Chamber, Youngstown, Hilton Head, Kentucky, Hendersonville, and many more. Her commercial albums are available on all digital streaming platforms.
All programs are open to the public and free with registration.
