New York Theatre Ballet Dances Agnes de Mille
Tuesday, February 5
New York Theatre Ballet brings to the National Arts Club live dance excerpts from three of Agnes de Mille’s best known Broadway musicals. Featured are "Postcards & Riders" from Oklahoma; "Come To Me, Bend to Me" from Brigadoon; and "The Hornpipe" from Carousel. The dancers will be accompanied by live music.
Founded in 1978 by its Artistic Director Diana Byer, New York Theatre Ballet brings fresh insight to classic revivals paired with the modern sensibilities of both established and up-and-coming choreographers. The company is in its 40th season, with an ever-expanding repertory that explores the past while boldly taking risks on the future.
“New York Theatre Ballet is producing new works as good as - and sometimes better than - its bigger siblings.” - Brian Seibert
