Where The Performing Arts Live
Thursday, October 12
7:00 PM
Illustrated visual and sound based lecture
The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center houses one of the world's most extensive combinations of circulating, reference, and rare archival collections in its field. The Library is known particularly for its prodigious collections of historic recordings, videotapes, autograph manuscripts, correspondence, sheet music, stage designs, press clippings, programs, posters and photographs.
Jacqueline Z. Davis, our guest speaker, oversees the Music, Dance, Theater and Recorded Sound research collections as well as the circulation division.
Using visual and sound materials from the archives of Harold Prince, Jerome Robbins and other luminaries from the collection, Ms. Davis will reveal how truly astonishing it is to enter her extraordinary domain where the performing arts will live forever.
