The NAC Glass Dome - designed by Donald MacDonald Wednesday, October 4 8:00 PM Illustrated lecture The glass dome above the Club's bar, custom made for the Tilden Mansion, is iconic for NAC members and guests, but few know the background of the designer, the lesser-known glass artisan genius, Donald MacDonald. Glass historian Jennifer Thalheimer will reveal all about MacDonald and his work including his relationship to John LaFarge and Louis Tiffany. Jennifer Thalheimer is the Curator and Collections Manager of the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art in Orlando, which houses the largest collection of Tiffany glass in the world. She is a leading expert on American decorative glass and currently a primary contributor to the Corning Museum Tiffany glass exhibition. Her ongoing project for the Morse Museum, The Louis Comfort Tiffany Chronology, is an online resource which centralizes documented facts of Tiffany’s life.
