Artist Fellows Salon with Eunbi Kim
Join National Arts Club 2024 Artist Fellow and pianist Eunbi Kim in our lower galleries for an introduction to “Deep Listening,” a practice of sonic awareness developed by pioneering American performer and composer Pauline Oliveros. Kim will perform short solo sets of music by Domenico Scarlatti and Sophia Jani and lead the audience in a group performance of Oliveros’ “The Tuning Meditation,” a vocal improvisation for musicians and non-musicians alike. This will be followed by a discussion on ways we can listen vs. hear in our daily lives.
The National Arts Club Artists’ Salon is a newly created series led by our Artists Fellows that serves to spark open-minded dialogue about art and the way that it shapes the world around us. Each month, one set of Fellows will present a topic relating to their practice and passions, from visual art to film to music and beyond. Engage in open-minded discussions with other guests, get to know the talented NAC Artist Fellows cohort, and leave with a deeper understanding of our artistic community.
