Stepping Through History with Dance Parade
Dance Parade will present its advocacy roots to legalize dance by helping to reform New York City’s cabaret and zoning laws and the organization’s 18-year history of producing what has become New York’s largest dance and culture event: the annual Dance Parade & Festival. This year’s Dance Parade will take place on May 18. We are proud to present a preview of this joyous event. The evening will feature performances by 2024 Grand Marshal and tap dance luminary Brenda Bufalino and 2024 Grand Marshal and preservationist of baile folklorico Martha Zarate and her company, Mazarte Dance Company, who will showcase a slice of the diverse footwork from dances of Northern Mexico, American Tap Dance, and where the styles intersect.
