Lang Lang’s Piano Scholars: Celebrating National Arts Club’s 125th Anniversary - Music Then and Now
Every two years, the world-renowned concert pianist Lang Lang personally selects a limited number of exceptionally talented young pianists from around the world, offering them mentorship, tutelage, and unique opportunities for performance as “Scholars” of the Lang Lang International Music Foundation. Celebrating the National Arts Club’s 125th anniversary this year, Lang Lang Scholar Joshua Mhoon brings a sensational program of classical masterworks paired with his own multi-genre compositions. A Chicago born piano prodigy, Joshua Mhoon performs worldwide as well as across the United States and has been featured in local and national newspapers, television shows, and radio. In 2021, Mhoon began his collegiate studies at The Juilliard School to pursue a bachelor’s degree in music under the tutelage of pianist Emanuel Ax.
