FashionSpeak Fridays: Audrey and Givenchy: A Fashion Love Affair

Friday, May 13
7:00 PM

It was fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy who said “The dress must follow the body of a woman, not the body following the shape of the dress,” and it was Audrey Hepburn who wore his creations and became a fashion icon with a timeless elegance that will never go out of style.
In her book Audrey and Givenchy: A Fashion Love Affair, author Cindy De La Hoz goes behind the scenes of classic films Sabrina, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Charade, and Funny Face to celebrate the most influential teaming of star and designer in fashion history.
Audrey Hepburn got her start, just as a young French designer, Hubert de Givenchy, was beginning his legendary career. Together their tastes and sensibilities complimented and enhanced each other’s, and over the course of their forty-year friendship and professional partnership, both became fashion icons whose collaborations continue to influence decades later.
Cindy De La Hoz is a film and fashion buff inspired by the legends of the silver screen. She is the author of the books So Audrey; A Touch of Grace: How to Be a Princess, the Grace Kelly Way; Lucy at the Movies; and Lana: The Memories, the Myths, the Movies.

Audrey and Givenchy Style is highly encouraged!

Books will be available for purchase.
