Tuesday, September 12
8:00 PM  /  Illustrated lecture

“I believe that spaces for people to gather in cities are most important. They reinforce our sense of community and make us belong.”

Please join us for a talk with Pelli Clark Pelli Principle William E Butler.  Pelli Clark Pelli, led by internationally renowned architect César Pelli has always been interested for some 50 years in the development of places where people can gather. In particular large air conditioned halls. They see them as the contemporary, cold climate version of the Mediterranean piazzas and plazas. Bill Butler joined the firm in 1979. As Principal in Charge, his work has included buildings for institutional and commercial clients as well as master plans for both academic campuses and commercial developments. He has led some of the firm’s largest cultural projects, including Overture Center for the Arts in Madison, Wisconsin, and the Minneapolis Central Library.
