The Verona Quartet

Wednesday, January 25
7:00 PM

“The Verona Quartet were more convincing, more impassioned, more dynamic, and more engaging…not afraid to go to extremes…and always keeping the music supple.” – Amati Magazine, UK
Now in their second season as Graduate String Quartet in residence at The Juilliard School, the Verona Quartet performs across the U.S. and Canada in 2016 and 2017. Here in New York they are poised for one of their most important appearances: the quartet’s debut at Carnegie Hall, in February. Ahead of that occasion, violinists Jonathan Ong and Dorothy Ro, violist Abigail Rojansky, and cellist Warren Haggerty return to the NAC for a special preview of their Carnegie program. The Verona brings two standard string quartet favorites—the String Quartet by Ravel, and the Quartet Op. 59, No. 2 by Beethoven—along with a short work by rising young composer Michael Gilbertson, whose music The New York Times describes as “elegant” and “particularly beautiful.”
Join us for an intimate evening of chamber music in the Grand Gallery!
