Foster Hirsch and Michael Riedel Talk Broadway

Monday, October 24
7:30 PM

What do you have when Broadway “insiders” get together? A scintillating evening with sparks and fireworks in the form of great stories and witty repartee!
Join us for a fascinating evening with Foster Hirsch, professor of film at Brooklyn College and author of sixteen books, and Michael Riedel, columnist for the New York Post, TV co-host of Theater Talk on PBS, and his new gig, host of “On the Town With Michael Riedel” on 970AM.
Both authors have written books on the history of Broadway. Michael Riedel’s Razzle Dazzle: The Battle for Broadway, according to Amazon Books is “a provocative no-holds-barred account of the people, the money and the power that turned gritty back alleys and sex shops into the dazzling Great White Way."
Foster Hirsch’s The Boys from Syracuse: The Shubert's Theatrical Empire, which covers the years the Shubert brothers’ producing organization created “a theater monopoly unrivaled in history,” and “how for the Shuberts, Broadway was Rome with a casting couch” as quoted by The Nation.
Both authors will discuss their books, their research methods, and the people they interviewed. Foster will interview Michael. Or, will Riedel interview Hirsch? In either case - don’t miss it.

Books will be available for purchase and signing.
