Le Cocktail Français: Visit Vaux-le-Vicomte

Monday, March 14
6:30 PM

Join us in welcoming Alexandre de Vogüé, co-owner of Vaux-le-Vicomte, and discover the history of one of the largest private estates in France. Vaux-le-Vicomte has inspired all of Europe for centuries with its technical innovations, water conveyance systems, and French formal gardens.
Alexandre de Vogüé will present his book, A Day at the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, which traces the château’s history from the seventeenth century through the Belle Époque, World War I, and its public opening in 1968. The book also contains exclusive photography and archival documents that offer unprecedented access to the château and illuminate the extraordinary secrets of court life.
Alexandre de Vogüé is a graduate of a business school in Paris. After completing his military service in the Alpine Troops, he worked as a mountain guide in Chamonix for 15 years. He then returned to Vaux-le-Vicomte, taking charge of the estate’s development and communications.

Following the program, join us for a prix-fixe  dinner at the “French Table.”  Be sure to reserve with the dining room at (212) 477-2389 or [email protected]
