Len Cariou in Do You Remember Me? by Pierre Delerive

Monday, October 19
7:30 PM

Best friends and former resistance fighters in occupied France, Louis and Bertrand have met only once in the 60 years since they both returned from Buchenwald concentration camp. When Bertrand telephones saying he needs to visit immediately, Louis is stunned.

Awaiting Bertrand’s arrival, Louis relives the events surrounding a wartime decision he was forced to make and its consequences on their friendship and his intense love affair with his wife. What in the past has led to this urgent reunion? From the vantage point of his old age, Louis wistfully witnesses his younger self’s struggle to deal with the competing themes of passion, obsession and loyalty.

This staged reading stars Len Cariou, a Tony®, Drama Desk, and Theater World Award winner. Inducted in 2004 into The American Theater Hall of Fame, he can currently be seen playing the patriarch, Henry Reagan, in Blue Bloods on CBS. The cast will be rounded out by six New York stage and screen actors.

Pierre Delerive has adapted Do You Remember Me? from one of his five critically acclaimed novels.

Directing tonight’s performance is Vinnie Marano, a fixture in the New York Theater community for over 25 years. This will be his third presentation for the NAC.
