Encaustics: Now and Then
[Archaeology] NAC member and visual artist Lynne S. Mayocole discusses encaustic painting which includes the use of wax as utilized by early civilizations, notably in the Fayum in Egypt. Encaustic continues to play a part today as seen in the work of Renee Magnanti. Mayocole will demonstrate Magnanti’s technique during the event.
