Persistence of Vision: Filmmaking Insights and Life on Set
[Moving Image] A story well told can open hearts and change minds. While it is primarily film directors and screenwriters who are given credit for a captivating narrative in film, it is the cinematographer who brings this vision to life. Join cinematographers Nara Garber and Chris Scarafile for an evening of stories from behind the camera. Garber is a documentary filmmaker and cinematographer with a focus on social issues, with credits for award-winning films for networks such as HBO and PBS, among them End of the Line: The Women of Standing Rock, and her feature documentary Flat Daddy for PBS America. Scarafile has worked as a cinematographer in television and movies since 1993. His credits include The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Boardwalk Empire, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, among others.
