Author Steve Massa will cast light on the career of Roscoe “Fatty” Arbuckle, an American silent film actor, comedian, and director whose successful career was overshadowed by scandal and ensuing trials that became major media events. Another scandal that shook the film industry during the 20s involved the tumultuous marriage of screen stars Olive Thomas and Jack Pickford. Director Michele Gouveia and cinematographer Dan Kerrigan will trace how the marriage of this golden couple ended in tragedy. Gouveia is currently at work on a documentary entitled Olive & Jack: The love story that changed Hollywood. Attendees will see historic footage including a short film with Fatty Arbuckle.
