Katherine Taylor: ARTic Creatures

Tuesday, December 3
8:00 PM

Katherine Taylor’s latest work, ARTic Creatures, is inspired by several factors: her residency with the Arctic Circle Program, which brings together international artists, scientists, architects, and educators to learn and collaborate in the field; her time with Project Puffin, a volunteer effort of the National Audubon Society to restore nesting grounds to the puffins of Maine; and her examination of specimens at the American Museum of Natural History. The talk will be an in depth look at  how the work was created, despite having had to evacuate the island where Taylor does her molding when a polar bear decided to come for a studio visit. Taylor’s work was exhibited at The National Arts Club in 2013, and ARTic Creatures is currently on view at the Skoto Gallery in New York City, October 24, 2019 – January 10, 2020. No polar bears in sight.

This event is free and open to the public, however an RSVP is required at nationalartsclub.eventbrite.com.

PLEASE NOTE that members of The National Arts Club are not required to RSVP. A block of seats has been set aside for our members, however seating is first-come, first-served and entry to the event can not be guaranteed. Please arrive 20-30 minutes before the event start time.
