Table of Silence Project

Wednesday, September 11
7:00 PM

Conceived and choreographed by Jacqulyn Buglisi, Artistic Director of Buglisi Dance Theatre, this performance ritual for peace was created in 2011 commemorating the tenth anniversary of 9/11. Performed every year since at the Josie Robertson Plaza, Lincoln Center, it has evolved as a powerful transmitter of universal understanding and compassion. Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio have awarded Proclamations to the Table of Silence Project for uniting the community through dance. It has been seen via live stream around the world in 129 countries. Buglisi, Terese Capucilli, Rossella Vasta and Fausto Bizzirri will show a video and discuss the work.

The festival features over 50 performances, readings, presentations, and exhibitions focused on the arts, past, present, and future. “Since its founding in 1898, women have been welcomed as full members of our Club. ‘Multiple Perspectives’ is an opportunity for the Club to build on this commitment while fulfilling our mission to promote the arts,” said Linda Zagaria, Club President.
