Studio in the Street:
Symbols - Totems - Cyphers

April 29 - June 14

In the early 1980s, New York City vibrated with an alternative art scene that played itself out on the streets and vacant lots throughout the city. A wave of talent took to creating an exhilarating intersection of art and life. As the scene moved from the periphery of the art world to its center, these artists retained the energy of the street while creating a new and dynamic vision. This important overview of Street Art will feature works by Keith Haring and Richard Hambleton as well Scot Borofsky, Ken Hiratsuka, Angel Ortiz, Robin Van Arsdol, Bob Dombrowski, Kevin Wendall (FA-Q), and Paolo Buggiani.

The National Arts Club is grateful for the contributions of Scot Borofsky and the Painting Center in organizing this exhibition.

Regiane Donadio:
Winner of the 2018 Will Barnet First Prize - NAC Student Show

June 3 - 28

The Fine Arts Committee is proud to present the debut solo exhibition of the 2018 Will Barnet First Prize Winner, Regiane Donadio. Sao Paulo-born Donadio has been based in New York since 2010. Her emerging artistic career has flourished throughout her BFA major in Ceramics and Sculpture in the Art Department of Lehman College, CUNY.
Donadio’s work explores nuances and ambiguities of humanity’s relationship to nature with the understanding that humans are subject to nature. The works on display reveal the fragility of the human condition at the point of disequilibrium in which individuals reject the natural world and our own nature as something that is not an inherent part of us.

Oh Beautiful -  The American Landscape

June 3 - 28

Members' Reception: Monday, June 3, 6:00-8:00 PM

The American landscape has been a fertile ground of inspiration for countless artists throughout time. More than simply a view of the natural world, the four artists in this exhibition respond to the environment with distinctly personal visions. Works by Elliott Green demonstrate a unique technique that implies an otherworldly landscape while Elizabeth Hazan blurs the line between representation and abstraction. Also featured are the dramatic elements of mystery and light created by Amy Talluto and the precise and dreamlike views of Scott Kahn.
