Homecoming - Gramercy Brass
Wednesday, May 1
Trumpeter John Henry Lambert Jr. grew up in the neighborhood of Gramercy Park, and in 1982 he founded the Gramercy Brass Orchestra of New York, an ensemble that has ever since delighted audiences around the country and won numerous awards, including the First Place Winner of the North American Brass Band Competition. Tim Page, music critic for The Washington Post wrote, “Everything about the Gramercy Brass program struck me as first class, and the proof was in the playing!”
Five members, known as the Principal Quintet of Gramercy Brass Orchestra, will be joined by guest pianist, drummer and vocalist to form a unique 8 piece combo. From classics and jazz to modern popular repertoire, Gramercy Brass will deliver a festive evening of fun and enjoyable music!
Free and open to the public. Seating is first come, first-served. An RSVP is not required.
