The Hypnotic Bar
Wednesday, January 11
The Hypnotic Bar is a hilarious demonstration that getting drunk is ultimately all in the mind. Albert Nerenberg, film director, and hypnotist, first showed he could get people high and drunk without drugs and alcohol at Ideacity, an annual Canadian ideas conference similar to TED, in 2014. Since then, he has presented the Hypnotic Bar, half ground-breaking presentation and half show in bars and conferences around North America. It’s been called impossible and incredible, but it really is fascinating, possibly real, and a lot of fun.
Albert Nerenberg is an acclaimed director, hypnotist, and one of the world’s top experts on laughter. He directed Laughology, the first feature documentary about laughter, for CTV in Canada. He is the inventor of Laughercize, a laughter exercise technique and founder of the American Laughing Championships. In 2011 he was named one of the “100 most influential people in Health and Fitness” by Greatist.com.
As a Hypnotist he is known for demonstrating that the effects of drugs and alcohol are all in the mind.
He is currently working in a feature documentary titled You Are What You Act.
