The Tenth Annual Dara Mandle Young Poets Reading

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the series, poets who have inspired us will return to read from their work and discuss their own sources of inspiration. Rachel Eliza Griffiths is a poet and visual artist whose fourth collection of poetry is Lighting the Shadow. She is the recipient of numerous fellowships, including Yaddo and Cave Canem Foundation. Griffiths teaches at Sarah Lawrence College and the Institute of American Indian Arts. Adam Kirsch is the author of three books of poetry, including most recently Emblems of the Passing World: Poems after Photographs by August Sander. His essays and reviews appear regularly in the New York Review of Books and the New Yorker. Jason Koo is the author of two collections of poetry, America’s Favorite Poem and Man on Extremely Small Island. He has won fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and Vermont Studio Center. An Assistant Teaching Professor of English at Quinnipiac University, Koo is the founder of Brooklyn Poets. Meghan O’Rourke, author of the memoir The Long Goodbye and the poetry collections Once and Halflife, was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship and the Radcliffe Fellowship. She teaches at Princeton and NYU. Brenda Shaughnessy’s forthcoming collection of poems is So Much Synth. Her other books are Our Andromeda, Human Dark with Sugar, and Interior with Sudden Joy. She has been a Guggenheim Fellow and is Associate Professor of English/Creative Writing at Rutgers University.
