Creating the Health Hub

Tuesday, November 20
8:00 PM

ICL is a NYC based, award winning behavioral health provider whose vision for healthcare led to a partnership with the architecture firm Dattner to design what has been described as "the future of healthcare." Situated in East New York, the Health Hub offers the local residents access to a full range of social and healthcare services in a modern and welcoming environment. Beth Greenberg FAIA, Principal at Dattner will join ICL's COO Chris Copeland to describe the process of transforming the psychological concepts of safety, empowerment, and trauma into a physical space that embraces New Yorkers with some of the worst health outcomes in NYC. The corrosive effects of violence, poverty and drug use required a radical solution, a healthcare facility that felt like home.
Greenberg has managed an extensive variety of high-profile projects in over 25 years at Dattner Architects, from educational spaces, health clinics, to large scale urban design and transportation projects. She is actively involved in AlA's New York chapter.
