Russian Romantics: Solo Piano Recital Tuesday, April 16 8:00 PM American pianist Mackenzie Melemed has won multiple international prizes, including the New York International Piano Competition, the Maj Lind International Piano Competition in Finland, the Jakov Flier International Piano Competition, and First Prize at the 18th International Hamamatsu Piano Academy Competition in Japan. He was also awarded top prizes in the Gina Bachauer International Young Artists Piano Competition and the Steinway Society of Boston Young Artist Competition. Melemed has performed more than 800 recitals worldwide, including five times at The White House. He is in the Artist Diploma program at The Juilliard School, studying with Robert McDonald and Emanuel Ax. Melemed’s 2018-19 season has included performances in Finland, France, Poland, and the United States. In the coming months, he will tour with the KBS Symphony and give his Carnegie Hall debut recital. His program at The National Arts Club will feature masterpieces by Bach, Dorman, Scriabin, and Rachmaninoff.
