How Presidents and the FBI Have Been Portrayed in Fictional Films

Max Alvarez, who is a film scholar, cultural writer, historian and festival curator, presents an evening of film clips examining how U.S. Presidents have been portrayed in fictional films. He has formed presentation partnerships to broaden understanding of the cultural impact of film with entities such as the Smithsonian Institution, Library of Congress, and the U.S. Department of State.         
     Prior to the film screening, Bob Herzberg will give a brief presentation on his book The FBI and the Movies: A History of the Bureau on Screen and Behind the Scenes in Hollywood (McFarland Publishers). Writer, actor and comedian Bob Herzberg is the author of scholarly books and western novels. His other books include Hang’ Em High: Law and Disorder in Western Films and Literature and Revolutionary Mexico on Film: A Critical History, 1914-2014.
