Patricia Bosworth’s The Men In My Life is a dramatic memoir of love and art in 1950s Manhattan.  A child of privilege, Bosworth is drawn to acting and writing, captivated by the artists she meets in her parents' living room. Headstrong and resilient, she defies her era’s repressive conventions while adjusting to her lawyer father’s faltering career, ruined by defending the Hollywood Ten.
She enrolls at Sarah Lawrence, marries an abusive man and divorces him by age 20. Slammed by the suicide of her younger brother, she finds her way to the Actors Studio, where she studies under Lee Strasberg alongside Marilyn Monroe, Paul Newman and Steve McQueen. On Broadway she acts opposite Paul Muni, Helen Hayes and Elaine Stritch and appears with Audrey Hepburn in The Nun’s Story. Through her hard work and vivid writing, she becomes the acclaimed (and bestselling) biographer of Diane Arbus, Marlon Brando, and Jane Fonda.
