Visual presentation and discussion

No building has been the subject of so many lectures as the Parthenon. Erected during the High Classical Period between 447 and 432 BCE, this splendid pinnacle of beauty reigns as Greeceā€™s greatest edifice.
Join Dr. Diane Harris Cline and understand the Parthenon from the unique perspective of social networks uniting importers, metalsmiths, quarrymen, road builders, and more. Greater than the sum of its parts, Athens sustained for twenty years this complex system which enhanced creativity and innovation while erecting an unparalleled city in which supreme artists and skilled craftsmen flourished.
Dr. Diane Harris Cline, an internationally renowned historian, specializes in cross-disciplinary research at George Washington University. Winner of two Fulbright awards and author of The Treasures of the Parthenon and Erechtheion, she spent three years in residence at the American School of Classical Studies at Athens.
