Roundtable/ Speaking of Shakespeare

Peter Marks of the Washington Post

Wednesday, October 17
8:00 PM

After nine years with The New York Times, where he wrote about off-Broadway productions and a variety of other cultural issues, Peter Marks joined The Washington Post in 2002 as its chief theater critic. In that role he has observed and commented on everything from Kennedy Center Honors galas to significant work in settings like Arena Stage (where Dear Evan Hansen began its route to a Tony Award), the Shakespeare Theatre Company (which Michael Kahn has established as an institution that attracts key members of our nation's power elite), and the intimate Folger Theatre (which features edgy Bardic adaptations).
In addition to his coverage of the Nation's Capital, Mr. Marks provides extensive surveys of New York and London offerings. These will be among the topics that Mr. Marks addresses during a wide-ranging conversation with John Andrews.
