In The Poet’s Hand, one of the most riveting New Yorker articles he’s written, Adam Gopnik asks why “we still search for relics of the Bard.” It’s an intriguing question, and Mr. Gopnik focuses it on new developments with the potential to alter our perceptions of a playwright who seems just as vibrant today as he was at the peak of his career four centuries ago.     
     Best known for Paris to the Moon, Mr. Gopnik has also enriched our lives with Americans in Paris, and The Table Comes First: France, Family, and the Meaning of Food.         
     A frequent guest on Real Time with Bill Maher and other television programs, and a remarkably wide-ranging essayist who has won numerous awards for his cultural and political commentary, Mr. Gopnik has recently tried his hand at writing for theatrical production, and that is likely to be one of the topics that he and John Andrews explore during what promises to be another memorable conversation.
