Poetic Justice By David Masello

Monday, January 22
7:30 PM

Staged reading

A young poet, a notorious Mafia don, and the most influential publisher of poems in New York all form an alliance filled with intrigue and humor. Here is a play that brings insight and wisdom about humanity outside our usual circle of friends.  It begins in the early 1980s. The place is Greenwich Village.  What's often regarded as the least affective of the arts, poetry, becomes the most powerful, as a single poem dramatically changes the lives of all concerned.
David Masello is a writer and editor of Milieu magazine. His essays have appeared in leading journals and anthologies, including The New York Times and Best American Essays. Prior plays have been produced by Manhattan Repertory Theatre, and the Jewish Women’s Theatre of Los Angeles.

All events are free and open to the public.
