Mr. Kinstler began his career aged fifteen drawing comic books, and his work influenced the pop art school. He has been the preeminent portrait painter in America for seven decades.  He has painted from life eight U.S. Presidents including  the official White House portraits of Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan. He has captured celebrities such as Tony Bennett, Katharine Hepburn, Paul Newman, and John Wayne, Tennessee Williams, Tom Wolfe, and Salvador Dali.    The Smithsonian, National Portrait Gallery owns over 100 of his originals and awarded him its highest honor, the Copley Medal. He will present an illustrated talk on his career and subjects he has painted, focusing on the studies behind the paintings which appear in his newest publication, Observations and Impressions: The Sketchbooks of Everett Raymond Kinstler.
